Airport Good-bye

Well, we all went to the airport to send Dave off. It went well. Sad but fine. Now, we are on the countdown! Only 6 months to go! Dave's first flight to Atlanta was fine but the one to the army post was canceled so he had to find another way to get there. He met a couple contractors that were headed to the post, one from DuPont and the other from Lacey so he just caught a ride with them so all turned out OK. He said he got all of his armor today...very heavy and very expensive I guess. He said there was a warning on it: "Handle with Care!" Hmmm? You better not drop your armor or it might break! :) We wouldn't want that! Well, Dave is doing good anyhow!

Layer Family Blog is here!

HERE IT IS!! The new Layer Blog. Our name: sixlayerdip comes from my extreme creative abilities ... ya know, like Seven Layer Dip ... but there are six in our family. Dave thought it was funny. Well, this was one of my goals for the year and will be a good way for you all to see how we all are doing and how Dave is doing in Iraq. He will post on here as well! He actually leaves tonight. First, we plan to go bowling and then go to a restaurant named "Famous Dave's". We have heard that Famous Dave's has some very tasty ribs. So, we will see. Then, it is off to the airport where Dave leaves at 10:30. I will hopefully post often and once I get going I'll put some pics up.
