Beginner's Luck

Laurie's Delectable Fudge

Well, the other day we had a little meet-n-greet luncheon here at my house. It was a potluck so everyone was asked to bring something to share. Since it was at my house, I thought I'd share a few things, but the one with the most compliments was my FUDGE! Person after person commented on how tasty and smooth it was! I was shocked because this was the first time EVER in my whole life that I had made fudge. Jenny and I made it and boy was it easy! Anyways, I was feeling pretty good about myself so I told someone that this was blog worthy and that I'd have to let everyone know that I had some GREAT beginner's luck! I'm kinda afraid to make more cuz...ya know, it may not be as good as the first bunch! :)

We pulled into the garage and found this!!!!

The BIG Hundred Grand!

Yep, the mini has finally reached one hundred thousand miles and it was nice enough to do it while we were pulling into our garage. Oh, "the mini" in Laurie language unfortunately means minivan and not mini cooper! :) Anyways, we are taking this mama to Germany with us and are hoping that it does well over there. I'd really hate for it to poop out on the auto bahn! Yikes! But, if it does, there are still plenty of cars to choose from over there to buy! I don't know if you can get Suburbans over there though... Well, here's to 100,000 more!

Jen's Ten!

No, this isn't a post about Jenny's top ten list. It is about Jenny's 10th Birthday! Wow! She had such a great day!! She was counting down the days for quite awhile..."only 23 more days til I'm out of the single digits". "Only 22 days til I'm into the double digits!" Yep, Jenny is in the double digits now and quite honestly, I'm a little sad. Childhood just flies by and then we are adults FOREVER! I loved being a kid but remember wanting to always be older. I told Jenny that one day your wants switch to, "If only I was 10 again!" Really, the time we have with our children is so extremely short and precious! Well, we had a great time! We fit her party in after General Conference and then went out to eat at Famous Dave's which was fantastic. Then on Monday we went to Charlie's Safari and played Laser Tag. We all had a blast except for Sophie who thought it was too dark in the laser tag room and cried the whole time. Bummer. But the music was so loud that you really couldn't hear her that much. Actually, we found a corner to sit in and fired from there.

The blowing out of the candles! I think she got 3 of them. Better luck next year!

Jen and Sophie holding up Jenny's new Canary and Cotton Candy Bunny Webkinz!

Aunt Julie's gift was awesome! Jenny got a cool Vera Bradley purse!
I love it! Aunt Juju rocks!

And to top the night off, Jenny's good friend Emily dropped off a present:
A Black Lab Webkinz that Jenny really wanted! Emily actually gave Jenny her very first Webkinz exactly one year ago for her 9th birthday (or was it 2 years ago for her 8th birthday?). It was a really cute and soft white poodle. I say, "Thanks Emily! Thanks alot! Thanks for getting Jenny hooked big time! She has 13 now and they all are so cute!! :)" Emily is one of the sweetest girls on the planet btw!

For Your Listening Enjoyment

The kids had their piano recital a couple weeks ago and they did AWESOME! I have some very talented kids. One of my first priorities when we get to Germany is to find them a piano instuctor...they've GOT to keep going cuz they are doing so dang good!!
